About GEAR Recovery
Established in 2022, GEAR Recovery Inc. a
501 (c)(3) non-profit organization was founded by Jazmine Garcia. Her passion for healing families and working with the community comes from her own personal experiences within her family and what she witnessed growing up in the projects. "Our goal is to work with children and families who want to rebuild, gain education, and heal from their experiences with substance use and mental health disorders. In a world where the cycle of addiction negatively impacts the family, our focus is to provide support in the recovery process not only geared towards healing the individual, but also in healing their families. "

Our Impact
Summer Program
During our GEAR'ED up for Wellness summer program, five families engaged in mental and physical wellness activities. They learned effective coping skills, how to utilize self-regulation skills, and how to positively interact during moments of escalation, high-risk situations, and stress. The goal was to reduce crime and increase positive family engagement within their homes and communities. Stay tuned for fall program updates!
In the past year, GEAR Recovery has built meaningful connections with various organizations, leaders, and community members to better serve our community and look forward
to building more with others.
Support Groups
We have been able to serve over 15 families and youth during our virtual and in-person family support groups since March of 2022.
We have over 15 members in our private Facebook "Beloved Support group" and have supported over 20 mothers in our PLACE for Moms support group.
